As of Oct. 1, 2026, curbside recycling in Cold Lake will be handled and collected by a third-party contractor under contract with Circular Materials. For information on pick-up dates and how to prepare your recycling materials for pickup, visit www.circularmaterials.ca/cold-lake.

Some residents may experience a short interruption of their recycling pickup service during the switch in service providers. The recycling drop-off bins are still available at the Energy Centre (north parking lot) and downtown (4811-50 Street) for residents to drop off their recycling.

The City of Cold Lake submitted a bid to Circular Materials to continue to provide recycling collection curbside, but the service was awarded to Integrity Waste.

All recycling will be picked up on Wednesdays in Cold Lake, as determined by Circular Materials. Residents will remain on a bi-weekly pickup schedule according to their zone. Find your pickup schedule at www.circularmaterials.ca/cold-lake

Everything including cardboard needs to be put into blue or clear bags. All items can be mixed together in the bags and it does not need to be sorted. Some new items, such as glass and Styrofoam, will be included in the pickup. For up-to-date information, visit www.circularmaterials.ca/cold-lake

The two recycling drop-off locations at the Energy Centre (north parking lot) and downtown (4811-50 Street) will remain open for residents to drop off recycling materials at their convenience.

In support of diverting recyclable materials from the landfill and transfer station, recyclable materials will still be accepted at the Waste Management Facility in the designated locations directed by the scale attendant.

Waste and organics continue to be picked up by the City of Cold Lake. No changes to the waste or organics collection schedule are being made at this time.

Recycling Drop-off Bins

The City operates two recycling drop-off locations, which accept cardboard, mixed paper, plastics, aluminum cans and tins. Open 24 hours a day, seven (7) days a week, the drop-off bins are located at the Energy Centre (north parking lot) and 4811-50 Street.
